Tractor Supply Company opened its doors to Sonora, California, customers on March 13, 2010. The 19,000 square foot store and 20,000 square foot merchandise yard was developed and built by Sonora developer California Gold Development Corporation. Tractor Supply decided to locate in Sonora after observing strong retail sales to Gold Country customers in its Oakdale store as well as the large number of ranchers and farm owners located in the area. “It’s been very well received,” said California Gold COO Jim Todd. “It employs just under 20 people, which is terrific in this day and age, and it will add to the tax base of the county as well.” The approximately 39,000 square foot store is located within California Gold’s Standard Center retail project, located at the prime intersection of the Highway 108 Bypass and Mono Way.
